Interview Team Customer Success

Clemens Lemberger, Project Manager @ nLIGHT Plasmo!

Clemens is responsible for the planning and implementation of international customer projects in the field of our quality assurance systems for thermal joining processes and provides an insight into his everyday work at nLIGHT Plasmo.

When and why did you join plasmo?

Almost one and a half years ago, I was looking for a new challenge that would allow me to develop professionally and personally. After contacting plasmo over the social network and the viewing the available job profile as a fit,  I spontaneously applied. When Plasmo became part of nLIGHT last year, I was excited about the expanded opportunity this partnership offers us all.

What was important to me in making a change was to join a modern company with international operations, the opportunity to personally look after customers worldwide and to master tasks that challenge me with a committed team.

The application process was very pleasant and transparent. This along with the open corporate culture convinced me of the overall nLIGHT Plasmo package.

What do you like most about your job?

What I enjoy most is working with our international customers and the intercultural exchange that comes with it. Every customer has very different requirements, wishes and questions. I always enjoy successfully integrating our quality assurance solutions into these customer processes and thus making a valuable contribution to optimizing their production. High numbers of components are produced in automated production facilities. Our systems help customers to produce  high-quality, reliable components and thus save a lot of money and produce more sustainably.
Since teamwork is highly valued and indispensable at our company, we coordinate among ourselves in regular meetings. Cohesion and appreciative communication is lived in our company  and is very important to us at nLIGHT Plasmo. Furthermore, the individual knowledge of our employees is considered an important asset. Therefore the knowledge base is regularly maintained and further developed through various internal and external training courses.

What does your working day look like?

My typical tasks include the supervision of ongoing projects and project management, directly supporting customers and partners. Furthermore, I am involved in conducting trainings as well as the preparation of the respective documents, the implementation of tests, preparation of data and provide input towards the continuous development of our products.

The close interdepartmental cooperation, especially with our development team, helps me to be as customer-specific as possible and also to satisfy the sometimes high technical requirements of our customers in the best possible way.

Due to the Corona situation of the last months, some everyday processes have become more difficult and we were faced with new challenges, especially when traveling abroad. However, thanks to good teamwork and the coordination of the new circumstances, we were able to master the entire situation safely and successfully. The safety of our employees is our top priority and thanks to our health concepts, this is also guaranteed as far as possible.

Whether at the customer’s site, in the office or even from the home office, flexibility is always practiced by plasmo.

Summary

I started as a Project Engineer and in the meantime I have been able to prove myself through my commitment and have risen to Project Manager. In this new role, I am now responsible for large parts of the project. This means that I have already achieved one step of the goals I set myself at the beginning of my career at nLIGHT Plasmo. I am very proud of this and fully motivated to give my best in the future as well. The current situation in the world doesn’t make it easy for any of us – but it shows that with commitment and perseverance, you can get closer to your goal step by step.

Thank you, Clemens!
